As COVID-19 continues to afflict our community, we remain concerned and alert to the possibility of even greater turmoil caused by this virus. Nevertheless, we know that we provide some critical services for many of our patients. In compliance with local public health authority guidance, and with great vigilance for your well-being and our public health, we are starting to see patients in our clinic again.

Please be patient with us

As we navigate this new reality together, things will be different from the past, and things may change with very little notice. We are committed to being responsive to your needs while maintaining our commitment to public health and your health and safety.

Everyone’s safety comes first

At Recharge Medical we have always prided ourselves on exceeding the requirements of infection control standards. As we reopen our facilities for patient appointments, your health remains our top priority. We are confident your visit to Recharge Medical will be safe. Our office is a lower-risk environment. But even the lowest-risk environments are risky in the age of COVID-19. For that reason, we are ramping up our infection control processes to an even higher level. Here are some of things we are doing:

  1. Phone triage for all sick patients: If you are feeling sick in any way, do not come to the office. This includes fever, cough, runny nose, short of breath, diarrhea, belly pain, body aches. Call us. We will assess you over the phone to figure out the next steps for your health and services.
  2. Reduction in surfaces touched by multiple people: Many of the office amenities have been temporarily removed, including: self-serve water and tea, mouthwash, lotions, pillows, and reading materials. Literature is still available for you to learn about treatments, but we ask that you keep any literature you have touched. Staff will immediately discard any items left unattended.
  3. Masks required for everyone: Everyone entering our clinic must wear a face mask. If you are having a procedure that requires access to the area covered by a mask, you will be asked to remove the mask only during the procedure itself. All staff will wear masks at all times while in the clinic.
  4. Physical distancing: We ask that you keep your distance from other people while in the office. To accomplish this:
    1. Do not bring additional people to your appointment. One translator will be allowed if required. Additional persons will be asked to wait outside.
    2. Come to your appointment on time. If you are early, you will be asked to wait outside. If you are late, you might not be seen. This allows us to stagger when people are in the office.
    3. We have implemented a no-hand-shaking policy and will limit physical contact during exams.
  5. hand sanitizer. Cleaning and sanitizing: We have increased the number of hand sanitizers in the office and encourage you to sanitize your hands often. You will notice staff disinfecting rails, doorknobs, and other surfaces every 30 to 60 minutes. We use DisCide, the strongest hospital-grade disinfectant available, to disinfect all surfaces. This product kills all pathogens within 10 seconds. By comparison, Lysol must be in contact with a surface for 10 minutes to kill all pathogens. In addition, we have added more time between each patient to ensure extra cleaning and handwashing time.
  6. The health of our staff: Staff are required to have a health check at the beginning of each shift. They are required to report any symptoms or possible exposure to illness. Our staff will never work while feeling sick. If a staff member feels ill, they will be allowed to take days off immediately. We have a small staff, so in the worst-case scenario, this might mean your appointment will be canceled at the last minute. We know this is frustrating, but we need to protect the health of our staff, our patients (including you), and the community. Please be understanding if this happens.
  7. Staff education: Our staff have all undergone extensive infection control training, and we are supplementing that with additional continuing education for each staff member. Our infection control is led by health care professionals with years of experience in public health and clinical medicine.

About our Nail Clinic

At this time we will not be providing any nail clinic services. We know that safe medical pedicure services are vital to many patients with medical conditions such as diabetes, PVD, compromised immune function, and other issues. Unfortunately, the shelter-in-place orders had a devastating financial impact on our clinic and the Nail Clinic in particular. We are working hard to find a way to bring these services back to you. But at this time we cannot guarantee a reopening of the Nail Clinic services.
