IV therapy

IV drip containing fruits and vegetables

About IV therapy

Intravenous (IV) therapy is the infusion of helpful fluids directly into a vein. The fluids contain electrolytes, vitamins, minerals, or antioxidants your body needs. Since IV therapy goes directly into your bloodstream, its effects are instantaneous and can enable you to recover quickly from some ailments.* IV therapy can also be used to:

  • boost your immune system*
  • rehydrate after illness, jet lag, or a hangover*
  • help with athletic performance*
  • treat some health problems*.

Customized treatments, experienced physicians

IV therapy with anything other than saline solution requires what doctors call a “prescriber’s order.” For proper treatment a physician should assess your overall health and symptoms to order the correct treatment. The IV should be placed only by a healthcare professional with extensive training in IV placement, such as a physician, nurse, or EMT with IV certification. At Recharge Medical, our physician will evaluate your needs, order the treatment, and place your IV line.

Additional options

Injection setup without fluid infusion

In this treatment electrolytes, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, or medications are injected directly into a vein, but there is no fluid infusion. A small needle introduces a small catheter into a vein. The physician then uses that catheter to slowly inject the medication or supplements.
