Stop the Sweat

What is hyperhidrosis?

Some people glisten when they sweat, and some people look like they just ran up 20 flights of stairs. Sweating is normal. It’s our body’s way of regulating our internal temperature, though some people experience this in excessive amounts. Hyperhidrosis in simple terms is excessive sweating, which can be embarrassing if you’re experiencing it in a non-athletic environment.

For some people, all the deodorant and antiperspirant in the world doesn’t seem to reduce sweating. This can cause significant distress for people. Symptoms include sweaty hands, moist socks, underarm wet patches.

Not to worry! This problem can be simply solved by a few injections with Botox. Botox (Botulinum toxin) blocks the nerve signal that produces the sweat. This drug is known for wrinkle reduction, but it has more than one use.

Where can I use it?

Botox is FDA-approved to stop excessive sweating on armpits, but it can also be used on other parts of the body such as the hands, feet, and face.

Is it painful?

Most people report feeling a slight pinch, some areas are quite sensitive like palms and feet. Numbing cream is available upon request. There is generally no downtime, and it can be done between meetings or during your lunch break.

How long does it last?

Botox can last four to six months in most cases.

What’s the cost?

The cost can range from $400 to $1,000. Book a consultation from a board-certified physician that specializes in Botox injections to discuss issues, goals, treatments, and cost.
